La piel que respira

The skin that breathes (2026)

La piel que respira (The Skin that Breathes), composed of a series of six large-scale canvases, creates a contemplative space that seeks to generate a sensory and relational experience with the viewer.

This series draws inspiration from mystical texts such as The Interior Castle by Saint Teresa of Ávila, as well as the Song of Songs, in order to address desire and flesh from a more mystical perspective, in contrast to the pornographic, as well as recovering a sense of ritual.

The ritual begins with the act of painting itself: working close to the ground, the artist devotes her full attention to the material and to the unfolding of the process, entering an almost meditative state video.

Through this work, the artist investigates the unpredictability of matter as an essential aspect of both nature and artistic practice. In contrast to the increasing control and dematerialisation associated with new technologies, she deliberately allows the material to behave beyond her intentions, giving the reverse side of each canvas a life of its own.
